My Mom has an appointment next Thursday with a breast surgeon to discuss how the breast will be biopsied. According to the copy of the ultrasound report she received, there are 2 areas of concern, both in the left breast. She has lots of questions for the breast surgeon based on what the report says. She is handling all of this remarkably well, and she is determined to absorb one step at a time before moving on to the next. She refuses to look ahead or to think long-term because it is just too scary and overwhelming. My aunt told her that the only way she got through two bouts with breast cancer was to take one step at a time, so that's what she is doing.
It will probably be a few weeks before we know the results of her biopsy and what treatment is next. In the meantime, we are all trying to stay positive and focus on the here and now. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Your mom is handling everything the best way by staying calm and taking it one step at a time. Good for her! She is in my prayers!
She will be in my prayers daily! I am glad she seem to be in control (as much as she can be) Keep us updated!
Laura,
I was at church today and was really convicted about my lack of serious prayer time. I am going to be keeping a prayer journal now, and devoting time before bed every day to pray for friend's needs. I will be praying for your mom.
By the way, I miss you...
Sara
One day at a time is the best way to take things. You can do all the worrying in the world about what will come next, but will not know until each step, each test is complete. The other thing that helped my mom greatly was talking to other breast cancer survivors once she found out which treatment she was getting. That way she could find out what the "real world" side effects were from the treatment. I am here if you want to talk! I will keep your mom in my prayers.
