We Had the Talk

I talked to Joe and told him how I was feeling. I emphasized that I was in no way trying to pressure him into TTC#2 right NOW...just that I thought it would be a good idea to stop taking the BCP a few months before we started actively TTC. He listened very openly, and we discussed all of our fears about having a second child. It was a great conversation! I just started taking a pack of BCP, so I told him to think about it and we would talk about it again when I was just about done with this pack. I do think he'll agree that it's a good idea for me to go off them, but if he doesn't, then I'll have to be okay with it as it is a joint decision. Thanks for all of your advice!!!!

I had yet another test done yesterday to locate the stubborn kidney stone, which I have since named ROCKY! I had dye put into my body by IV and then had a series of x-rays taken. The test took about an hour total. The radiologist who read the x-rays thinks that the stone is at the juncture of my ureter and the bladder. My urologist should get the report in 2 days and maybe have a better idea if she still thinks the stone will pass or if we need to take more aggressive measures.

At Monday's Jenny Craig weigh-in, I was down 2 pounds for a total of 10.2 pounds in 5 weeks. I did splurge a bit on lunch yesterday since I hadn't had anything to eat or drink after midnight and I was STARVING! But I am back on track today and hoping for at least another pound gone by next Monday's weigh-in.

Oh, Laura, that is great news all the way around (except, of course, that Rocky still persists!) I'm so glad that Joe was at least open to the discussion. I think sometimes we underestimate our husbands. I, too, have been getting the "itch" more frequently, now that Noah has turned two. The next adoption process will take 2-3 years, and by that time, Kai will be in kindergarten, and Noah will be ready for it. I am planning on having The Discussion sometimes around tax season next year, as that's when we get the first hunk of our adoption tax credit to start the next round! :)

Anyway, this is so exciting for you, and I am so impressed that you have gotten down 10 POUNDS in just five weeks. If you keep this up, then by the time you finish up this pack of bcp, you may be near the 20-pound mark. What an accomplishment that would be! Are you still doing the marriage counseling?

Love,
Sara

Whoo hoo! I hope you can get to TTC soon! That junction deal with the ureter is where they thought my last one was hanging out when they did a sono because it was enlarged on my right side.

I am glad the talk went so well. I am dreading talking to Shawn when it's time for number 2 - he is just so content to have only one. *Sigh*

I wish Rocky would go away! OUCH!

And congrats on the weight loss! Keep it up

Way to go Laura! I loved hearing about you and Joe's talk. Aren't those moments the best? In the end, even if you don't "win" it's so easy to take because of the bonding during the process! Congrats also on the weight loss. I would encourage you to keep at it as you begin to plan for No. 2, it will most definitely help you! I'm only a week into two little ones (and i mean LITTLE!) but trust me you CAN do it! I'm so glad things are continuing to go well for you!
