A Break

Well, Joe hurt his back at work yesterday and he is taking the day off today. Although I am not happy that he hurt his back, I am THRILLED that he will be home when I get home from work and that he will be able to see his son tonight. I am also happy that he will be able to catch up on some rest today. He worked late again last night, and when he walked in the door, he looked at me and said, "So that's what you look like!"

My menu for yesterday:

Breakfast: 2 eggs w/ 2 slices of turkey bacon
Snack: celery w/ peanut butter
Lunch: carved turkey, green beans, tossed salad, 2 spoonfuls of seafood salad
Snack: 30 pistachio nuts
Dinner: 2 center-cut pork chops, leftover broccoli w/ cheese, broiled tomato w/ parmesan cheese
Snack: sugar-free fudgsicle

I am feeling so positive about my diet, and so very nervous about weighing in on Monday morning, especially since I am due for my period next week. I am trying not to expect a drastic weight loss, but I will be so upset if the scale hasn't at least dropped by 3 pounds or so. Last time I did South Beach, I lost 6 pounds the first week. I've been so tempted to get on the scale and see how I'm doing but I've resisted.

Still on target, I see. I am really hopeful that you will see at least that 3-pound weight drop that you want to see. Your diet sounds very sensible and fulfilling. Sounds like you are getting enough calories, and enough of the right kinds of foods. I am anxious to see what Monday's weigh-in has to say...
