Quick Check-In

I don't have a whole lot of time to post but I realized I hadn't entered my menu for yesterday, so here it is:

Breakfast: 2 eggs w/ 2 slices of turkey bacon
Snack: celery w/ peanut butter
Lunch: Tossed salad with chicken salad on it
Dinner: roasted chicken, green beans, and steamed veggies
Snack: string cheese

I am so busy today trying to get some things done around the house. Joe is off running some errands and it is almost impossible to get anything done when Ethan is awake! Joe has to work tomorrow, which I'm pretty bummed out about. I just haven't seen very much of him this week, and now I have to give up one of the two days when I am usually guaranteed that I'll have him home. Oh well, nothing I can do about it. Maybe I'll take Ethan out Christmas shopping if I can get him to stop fussing for 2 hours! All he wants to do lately is fuss and whine until he gets his way about everything. Makes for a tiring day!

I'll try to check in later with today's menu!

Laura- he works on Sundays too? EEEEK! You still haven't ever told us what kinda job he does. Dave's gone usually from 5 AM-5 PM but I have him in the evening but today is Saturday and he's gone again till around 1. He usually has weekends off but hasn't the past 2.

It wouldn't hurt to get your thyroid tested. I do it yearly because my family (mom, grandpa, and 2 uncles) have Graves Disease. We've been lucky so far. Your thyroid does have alot to do with your weight. My mom went from skinny to packing on 5-10lbs a month till she found out what was going on.

Laura,

I never thought I'd have any words of empathy for you regarding your baby, since you had Ethan so many months before we brought the boys home...but when Noah came home was was 11 months and starting to cut his bottom two teeth (he only had his top two). He was teething like crazy and so demanding. Fuss fuss fuss was all he seemed to do. As long as we were giving him food or drinks or holding him nonstop, he was fine, but other than that, forget it. I just wanted to say that I feel for you. And you should try some children's motrin--it seemed to help Noah. Until the teeth pop through, there's not a lot else you can do.

Here's to hoping that you get some quality time with Joe soon. So glad to hear your parents closed on the house FINALLY! It will be nice to have them here, and perhaps get some reprieves from being a 24-hour mom.

CONGRATS on the diet. I say if you haven't lost any weight on Monday, go ahead and get the thyroid test. That way you will feel proactive.
